Our speaker on August 2 was our own Dr. Scott Sullivan. We know him best for bringing us our Christmas program each year; this was something completely different.

Scott gave a terrific program on Constance Whitney Warren: A Pioneering Woman of Western Sculpture. He has spent 20 years investigating her life and art. We learned about her privileged life on Fifth Avenue and Rhode Island and her early promise as an artist. Her marriage to a French Count ended in divorce and a subsequent trip to a mental health institution. Her works are on the capital grounds of both Oklahoma and Texas. Scott's discussion included several images of her sculptures and watercolors and detailed background information. Scott brought one of her smaller sculptures to the delight of the room. This was a true cultural event!
